Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken Thighs

Cooking Time: 3 to 4 hours on high, 6 to 7 hours on low
This is a simple, but delicious chicken. This dish is fairly low in calories and carbohydrates.
3 pounds chicken thighs, skin removed, optional
1 tablespoon canola oil or vegetable oil
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar, rice, seasoned
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
4 green onion(s) , chopped
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon sesame oil, dark
Place a large skillet over medium high heat. Add oil and chicken and brown on both sides. Place chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, sugar, garlic powder, sesame oil and vinegar. Pour over chicken and cook for 4 to 5 hours on high depending on how large the pieces are and how full your slow cooker is. In a small bowl, mix corn starch with 1 teaspoon water. Add to sauce and stir. Cook for 5 to 10 more minutes to thicken sauce. Remove chicken and spoon sauce on top. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve with rice or noodles.
