Wild Rice With Mushrooms and Almonds

This is a nutty flavored rice and is much healthier than plain white rice.
1 cup rice, wild, uncooked
2 1/4 cup vegetable broth, reduced sodium, gluten free,
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup mushrooms, Crimini or button or combo, chopped
1/4 cup nuts, almonds, sliced
1 onion(s), medium, chopped
1/4 teaspoon pepper, black, ground
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 green onion(s)
Melt the butter over medium high heat in a medium sauce pan. Add chopped onions and cook for 2 minutes. Add mushrooms and stir. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Place the lid on the pan and reduce the heat to low. Simmer for about 25 minutes until liquid is fully absorbed.
