Roasted Asparagus with Browned Butter Sauce

Roasting the asparagus really adds to the flavor. This dish is low in calories.
1 pound asparagus
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper, black, ground
1 tablespoon butter, light
1 teaspoon vinegar, balsamic
1 teaspoon soy sauce
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wash and trim asparagus removing tough ends. Spray baking sheet with cooking spray. Arrange asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet. Spray top of asparagus with cooking spray. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until desired tenderness. Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Cook for a minute or so until slightly browned, tilting pan from side to side as not to burn butter. Remove from heat. Stir in soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and garlic. Drizzle butter sauce over asparagus, tossing gently to coat. Transfer to serving platter. Garnish with pepper if desired.
