This is one of my husband's favorites.
1 pizza dough, refrigerated roll such as Pillsbury, (13.8 ounces)
1 cup cheese, mozzarella, low moisture and part skim milk, grated
6 ounce(s) mushrooms, Crimini or button or combo, sliced
1 onion(s), medium, chopped
3/4 pounds steak, Rib Eye, boneless, lean, choice, fat trimmed
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper, black, ground
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Preheat oven to 425 degrees (if using a dark or nonstick pan set it at 400 degrees). Spray baking sheet with cooking spray or lightly coat with olive oil. Unroll the pizza dough out onto the baking sheet. Press the dough to your desired thickness and size. Bake for 8-9 minutes. While crust is baking, cut the steak into half inch strips and then cut the strips into half inch pieces. Season with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the oil and then add the steak. Brown for 1 minute, then add the onions and mushrooms and cook for 2 minutes until just soft. Remove the pizza crust from the oven and arrange the steak mixture over the crust, leaving an inch around all edges. Top with shredded cheese and bake for about 6 or 7 minutes until cheese is melted and crust is golden. Garnish with fresh basil.
